Taste of Alpharetta returns tomorrow night, and a new development just north of Alpharetta is giving North Point Mall competition for an NHL expansion team.

🍽️ Taste of Alpharetta Returns Tomorrow Night
Alpharetta's largest annual food event is back tomorrow, May 14, taking over Downtown Alpharetta from 5PM –10 PM. The event features over 60 local restaurants, live music, and free admission.
This event is cashless. You can buy TasteBucks, the event’s digital currency, in advance through the app or on-site to sample food, with dishes running $1–8 per item.
Expect cuisine ranging from elevated Southern to Korean BBQ, live music on multiple stages, a Kidz Zone, and more!
Free parking and a shuttle are available at Wills Park Equestrian Center and Wills Park Aquatic Center, running every 10–15 minutes.
🏢 $3 Billion Development Coming to Alpharetta Area
The Gathering at South Forsyth is a proposed 100-acre development located at the northern tip of Alpharetta. The project has plans for an 18,500-seat arena, 2,400 residential units, 500 hotel rooms, and 1.6 million square feet of retail and office space. Check out our full interview with the developer here.
The $3 billion mixed-use project is actively competing with the North Point Mall redevelopment for the NHL's 33rd expansion franchise.
The Gathering has received major news recently:
The price tag to land an NHL expansion team has reportedly jumped to $2 billion, nearly double the combined cost of the Vegas Golden Knights and Seattle Kraken franchises.
Krause confirmed he's still negotiating with the NHL and believes his group can raise it, but said plainly: if they can't, they won't get the franchise.
Forsyth County Commission Chairman Alfred John came out swinging in support of The Gathering's site, pointing to it being shovel-ready with proper zoning, $225 million committed through a voter-approved Tax Allocation District, and a new GA-400 interchange at Union Hill Road coming in Phase One of the $11 billion GA-400 Express Lanes project.
